And conventional ways of training or coaching will only take you so far.
Imagine an unbroken training lineage, thousands of years old, devoted for all those centuries to one question. How does a human being unlock the full power and capability already inside them?
Yiquan is that lineage. Born in the great mountains of the Himalaya, brought into modern form in twentieth century China, and delivered to the United States by a handful of teachers.
An inheritance planted in the long ago and alive right now, inside a world of challenge and opportunity no earlier generation ever faced.
With the healing and fighting art of Yiquan as our foundation, infinite horizons of potential come into our reach.
We heal the parts of us needing repair, we reach a stillness in body and mind, and the stillness opens uncompromising access to the will, so we build a future of real consequence for ourselves and for the people around us, starting now.
Every untrained system contracts when challenged. We reverse that reflex permanently.
Pressure becomes the signal to open, and the body begins to gain from the forces that used to drain it.
Structure organizes around a single vertical axis. Hold that center under force and you stay where you are, whether the force arrives as a punch or as a hostile question across a table.
We build the center in standing practice, and you keep it everywhere afterward.
Yiquan translates as Mind Boxing for a reason. Intent leads and the whole connected body follows.
Attention becomes a trainable power, and the will becomes a muscle you extend past the body into the situations that matter.
An unbroken line runs from the training back to the oldest Himalayan training structures. Those traditions described a state that arrives only from complete training, a crazy wisdom, absolute perceptiveness joined with fearlessness.
You master the basic logic of how things work first, in the body and in the world, and only then does the higher sanity arrive, resting on a foundation already built.
We train toward exactly that state, crazy wisdom resting on neurophysiological integrity that keeps refining year after year.
At that level action stops being forced. The situation itself produces the action, and you move as the one through whom it arrives.
We are now fit to run lightning through our bodies and minds.
Three arcs, each one individual training, week after week, direct. The virtual track delivers the full trajectory. In person adds contact. Group training opens later, and the waitlist is open now.
Everything in Ill to Still, and
Everything in Still to Will, and
The virtual track delivers the full arc, measured against the same Week 1 markers. In person adds a different dimension, body to body, mind to mind, the way the art has always accelerated. Hands on the structure compress months of refinement into hours.
Everything in the virtual tier, and
Everything in the virtual tier, and
Everything in the virtual tier, and
Andrew Markell began his training in Nepal, at Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling monastery, with Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche. He went on to train Yiquan and other fighting arts under Sifu Gregory Fong for twenty-five years. Alongside those lineages he trained in the healing arts for twenty-five years under Patricia Spradling and many other masters, and has spent decades applying the whole of it with communities, top leaders, private and public companies, Special Operations, first responders, government, and family offices.
The art descends from Wang Xiangzhai through an unbroken teaching line. Transmission happens person to person, which is the reason the work stays individual.
In combat, as in leadership, true power lies in what we can perceive and influence before others realize the game has begun.
